The Evangelical Heart of a Priest

Fr. Scott McCaig, CC, Moderator of the Companions of the Cross, a Roman Catholic Society of Apostolic Life, offered a spiritual day of renewal for our seminarians on November 9-10, 2012. Fr. Scott reflected on the heart of the priest (heart meaning the very centre of the person, the place of integration of mind, soul and spirit) and how it ought to be filled wit the love of the Redeemer, bursting forth like the Redeemer’s. With such a heart and an openness to the institutional and personal charisms of the Holy Spirit, a priest can truly be effective in evangelization, in bringing those under his care to a personal encounter with the living Lord.
