Wonderworking Icon of Pochaiv

Tonight, after we celebrated the Vigil for the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God, we travelled to the OCA Annunciation Cathedral for the veneration of the wonderworking icon of Pochaiv. We arrived about the seventh ode of the canon and Metropolitan Jonah was still anointing people as they came to venerate the icon. Along with a few friends of the seminary, we were able to venerate this miraculous icon as well. (The icon we venerated is not the one that was written in Constantinople, but a copy – made at the same time – that is considered miraculous.) Afterwards, we were invited downstairs by Fr. John Jillions to the Cathedral hall for a short personal encounter with Metropolitan Jonah. The veneration continued throughout the night. The next day there is to be the ordination of the new OCA bishop of Quebec, Irenée.
